A Green Start

Powering through my weekdays

I like to think I leap out of bed with a smile but it's more likely one of my children pulling me much earlier than anticipated. Once up though, I head to my kitchen for a glass of warm water with a fresh lemon slice, if I am super motivated I add a slice of fresh ginger. I sip this while chatting to the kids about their day ahead and quickly shot my Akesi Bio-Fermented Turmeric with Ginger and Black Pepper. While the kids are eating breakfast (they're on a rotation of omelettes/chia porridge/paleo pancakes) I have my green smoothie (recipe below if you're feeling brave!). Once the kids are at school I either hit the pavement for a run or head to pilates - once a week I do a couple of k's in the pool, I love the rhythmic oxygen intake and my back feels amazing afterwards! Once showered I head out ready to tackle whatever the day brings along with my Lifefactory glass bottle of green tea. Boom!

My green start

Not for the faint hearted… in a powerful blender pour in coconut water, a scoop of green powder of choice (I like Nuzest's Good Green Stuff), 15ml of Akesi Bio-Fermented Papaya Leaf Tonic, a handful of dark leafy greens (think kale, chard, watercress), parsley, chopped celery, a squeeze of lemon and a knob of fresh ginger - skin on if organic. Blend until super smooth, you may not enjoy this but you certainly feel great!
